Footlights is Exeter University's biggest musical theatre society. Specialising in high-spectacle, high-quality shows, we provide opportunities to students across musical and theatrical disciplines.

Each year, we produce a dance-driven musical production at Exeter Northcott Theatre, before putting on a more intimate production on-campus later in the year. Our pit bands bring together student musicians to perform challenging and exciting scores, and we offer countless production opportunities from lighting to fundraising, set construction to photography.

This submission to the Inter-University Musical Theatre Festival 2020 is taken from our final show in February of that year, before lockdown. 'Shine Like The Sun', from the musical 9 to 5, encapsulates self-confidence and picking yourself up from difficulty. It means a lot to everyone who took part.
